Cultural encounter

Connecting electronic
music scenes through
cultural exchange.

An international initiative fostering dialogue, collaboration and lasting cultural relationships between Spain and the world.

What is InterSonora?

“We use contemporary electronic music not as an export, but as a reciprocal language for genuine cultural dialogue.”

InterSonora is not a festival, not a promoter, and not an artist agency. It is a cultural cooperation initiative designed to build bridges between scenes that rarely have the chance to meet in depth.

Through partnerships with embassies, Centros Culturales de España (Spanish Cultural Centers) and independent venues across the world, we create spaces where artists, labels, institutions and communities can meet, collaborate and build relationships that outlive the performance.

How an Edition Works

Every edition follows the same thread, in a new city and with a new scene.

  1. Showcase

Live performances in iconic local venues. A curated presentation of contemporary sound within a specific cultural context.

    Live
  2. Talks

Conversations between visiting and local practitioners — discussing scene infrastructure, creative processes, and cultural policy.

    Dialogue
  3. Workshops

Hands-on sessions focused on skill exchange and production methods. Building knowledge across borders.

    Practice
  4. Cultural Encounters

Curated meetings with local communities and key agents. The personal relationships that seed future long-term collaborations.

    Connection
  5. Collaborative Legacy

Joint releases, ongoing residencies, and networks that continue long after the edition concludes.

    Long-term

Projects

Where we're headed.

Each edition brings together institutional partners, independent venues, and local communities around a shared program of sound and exchange.

  1. Portugal

    Pilot in preparation

InterSonora's first edition, built with Noise To Meet You: live sets, workshops and encounters between the electronic scenes of Spain and Portugal.

  2. Mexico

    Exploring

Scene research and first conversations to open the way with the Centros Culturales de España.

The performance is only the beginning. The true measure of exchange is what remains.

InterSonora is an open initiative.

We welcome dialogue with cultural institutions, independent collectives, labels and artists committed to long-term exchange.
